So true.

FAMILY PICTURES

I realized I never posted pictures of the photo shoot we got to be a part of a couple of months ago.  There were some fabulous pictures taken - the group that came out and did them for FREE were so good at capturing pretty poses for the girls and our family.  The only picture that turned out a little wonky was Jasper's.  He seems to enjoy looking juuust to the right or left of the camera lens and smiling only slightly, which makes for an awkward photograph.  Luckily, the last time a photographer came out, she caught him and his personality perfectly, so we've got some great ones of him from last fall.  Enjoy!

(The picture for one of our girls isn't with the others, for some reason.  As soon as I figure out where it went, I'll post it, too!)

BOYS' ROOM

The boys have shared a room for three months now and I finished decorating everything a little over a month ago.  They love their room and they love sharing - fortunate for me on both counts :).

The furniture is the set we bought off of Craigslist a couple of months before we moved.  Best purchase we've made in a long time.  The circular mirrors look a lot like portholes up close, and I found them at our new house when we moved in and just gave them a paint touch-up.  A lot of the nautical decorations I already had because that was the theme of Bennett's big boy room at our old house and I'd already started collecting things.  I bought more decor at Hobby Lobby, including the things on the shelf above the window and the bobbins (is that what you call them?) I hung on the window treatments.  The fish are decals bought off of Etsy.  Love.  You can't tell, but they're a burgundy color and some have little bubbles coming from their mouths.  The colors in the room are shades of blue with accents of burgundy.  The rug was already at the new house, the curtains and train table were Christmas presents.  The bedding I bought from JCPenney over a year ago, with a nautical theme in mind.  The sets were $50 each - can't beat that!  The white tubs on either side of the train table I LOVE because the handles are made of rope.  The detailing on them is very sailor-ish, and they were only $5 each at Target last year.  Sweet.

We have a nice camera that Michael's parents gave us a few Christmases ago, but I think we need to have it repaired (or maybe I just need to take a photography class), because the pictures are a little fuzzy and the colors are off a bit.  But here it is, as my two-month old blog list dictates :).
