D IS FOR DADDY-O

This Father's Day I am especially thankful for my husband and what an AMAZING dad he is. During the insanity that was Summer Spectacular (which will probably be a 2-3 post extravaganza, so get ready), this man of mine was supportive, loving, and positively wonderful with me and our boys. During the last two weeks leading up to the show, I took off at around 6:00pm and didn't get home until around 10:00pm (sometimes 11:00), and the week of the show, I left the house at 5:00pm and didn't get home till 10-10:30pm. Michael did not complain, he didn't gripe, he didn't fuss about all the time I was gone. He read our boys books, fed them dinner, played with them, bathed them, etc etc, for weeks while I got ready for the show and then performed it for seven straight days. He also took Bennett and Jasper to the first session all by himself, packing their bags, dropping them off at class, picking them up, and meeting up with Poppy and Mimi to watch the hour long show. Afterwards he took them to get autographs and visit the petting zoo. Amazing man, I tell ya! And he did all of this because he loves me and he loves our family. He encouraged me to do it because he knew I really wanted to, and he listened to me get excited, vent my frustrations, and sing the same 27 songs and do the same 20ish something dances over and over and OVER again :).
When I married Michael, I had no idea what an unbelievable dad and family man he would be. I totally lucked out. My boys are SO blessed to have a dad like him, and someday I know they'll understand that. The tone Michael sets for our family is relaxed, fun and godly, and I'm so glad he belongs to us! Love you, honey! You're the BEST!! Happy Father's Day!

What a sweet daddy! Happy Father's Day Michael!

Jennifer, Summer Spectacular looks a lot like Spring Sing. Am I right?

Megan - it is a lot like Spring Sing, but even bigger work-wise if you can believe that! We only had 2 1/2 months to practice, and it's a three night show that we perform twice. It was a lot of fun, but I'm glad to be back with my family, for sure!

Your babies are so beautiful! I love keeping up with your work through your blog!
